GAROLL DELIVERS A NEW
GLAZING UNIT TO ROCA, GAVA', SPAIN.
Garoll
Srl, leader enterprise in the sanitaryware automation sector, has
delivered at the end of july a robotized
glazing unit toRoca, Gavà plant (Spain).
This unit, when fully operative, glazes 600 pieces per shift, for
a total of 1800 daily pieces on three shifts; the pieces can vary
independentyl from closets, tanks with or withour lids, washbasins
and columns, giving a heterogeneity imprint to this same unit.
The productive unit composes of two inspection
booths , two robots and a glazing
booth with antropomorphous
robot . The two inspection booths have the characteristic of
versatility, since that it can be chosen at any time whether to
fettle two pieces at once or two times per piece.
The fact that the unit can glaze up to 600 different pieces per
shift is due to the automation subordinated to the glazing phase.
It is the glazing robot that sets the pace of the productivity,
so guaranteeing 100% operativity and eliminates any dead times during
this last phase. This unit is, therefore, handed out with a buffer
for under-rim glazed or after-fettling pieces positioned on it by
the robot, which means that other specific requested manipulations
can be made before the glazing phase begins.
A peculiar characteristic of this unit is the capacity to handle
glaze coatings depending upon the piece code. Practically, some
pieces can be glazed with only one coat, others with two, etc. This
service is impossible to be done on traditional lines with only
one robot without inefficiency of the same.
Thanks to handling robots, all asserving mechanisms that were a
mechanical and electronical problem (provoking an inevitable loss
in operative efficiency of the glazing line) were eliminated, therefore
giving to the line a primary mechanical simplicity. This also gives
a notable flexibility that cannot be found in traditional glazing
lines.
Among other advantages of the line, there is the foot cleaning device
on the exit conveyor belt, the fact that there is only one loading
point with an operator and one unloading point, and, as last, the
modularity of the line, which gives installation facility and ease
in future layout modifications.
