The automatic centering device enables pieces to be correctly positioned for loading on the glazing lines.

It makes use of a reference square moved by a slide with two motion axes controlled by linear resolvers, and driven by electric motors activated by inverters.

The centering device is usually installed directly in the inspection booth to enable a single line-operator to load and inspect.

OPERATION

· PROGRAMMING MODE
First, manually position the piece on the carriage, check it is correctly positioned, and then move the reference square with the programming push-buttons on the control panel. When both sides of the square touch the piece, the X and Y co-ordinates are stored in the memory and are specifically associated with the code.

· PRODUCTION MODE
Before loading the piece for glazing, type in the code, and the reference square automatically reaches the stored position. After the piece has been centered on the carriage by pressing the confirmation key, the square withdraws to a non-interfering position to enable the piece to be inspected.
